PDF (Portable Document Format) – a popular format for documents. Used in desktop publishing, automated design (CAD) and many other applications. It is not used to use some of the features of the PostScript language. Developed by Adobe Systems in 1993, using a number of PostScript features. First of all, it is intended for electronic submission of printing products. There are many programs for viewing documents in PDF format, as well as the official Adobe Reader program. The vast majority of modern printing devices support the hardware level PDF format, new documents in this format can be printed on these devices without special software.
